We keep things simple. From placing your order to final delivery, our process is clear, reliable, and designed around your needs. With expert guidance at every step, we ensure your cards are produced to the highest standard.

Process Time

As we offer so many finishes and options when producing your greetings cards its always best to have a chat first if you have any specific deadlines but as a guide we produce cards to the following timescales.

Digital-only production 5-7 days
Digital with ifoil or Spot UV 10-14 days
Digital/Litho with foil, embossing
or glitter 14 – 21 days

Delivery

We dispatch using next-day couriers and will provide tracking information via email. For large orders, we will palletise and ship with a next-day pallet service or can deliver in our own vehicle. We work with most of the UK Fulfilment companies and will liaise with them on your behalf regarding deliveries.

More Than Just Printing

Abbotprint is a family-owned business based in Rye, East Sussex. Established in 1998, we initially specialised in producing printed products for the legal profession. Today, virtually all of our work is for the greetings card industry.

We work with a fantastic range of creative people and love to get involved in the development of new greeting card ranges. We regularly exhibit at UK trade shows and encourage clients to visit us to see their cards in production. What makes us different from other printers is how we work with our clients. Not only do we provide a great print service, but we are there at every stage of the design process to help with card development, produce samples and we work hard to get the best possible finish. Digital Print

With our two modern Konica Minolta digital presses we can deliver a wide range of full colour printing without plates or set up charges. This means you are able to order short run full colour at a very cost effective price. We can print a maximum weight of 400gsm and our maximum sheet size is 330 x 720mm. With near litho quality it’s ideal for producing greetings cards.

Thermography

When we started Abbotprint in 1998 it was with a little Caslon thermographic machine and one press and we delighted in having this beautiful glossy raised finish and pretty much put it on every product we could find! Since then we have continued to produce thermography on ranges of greeting cards where a softer more organic looking finish is preferred to the glass smooth finish we get with Spot UV. Thermography works fantastically on textured materials and can be used in any pantone colour.

Biodegradable Glitter

We have been producing high quality glittered greeting cards for over 25 years and can now offer a range of biodegradable cards that will give all the bling without the environmental cost. We can glitter on digital or litho cards, and with two presses and speeds of around 7000 cards per hour we can really create some super speedy sparkle!

iFoil

Our newest, and i think most exciting development in the production of greeting cards. With our Accurioshine press we can foil greeting cards without dies or expensive set up. We can work from digital or litho sheets and the foil has a beautiful raised finish, similar to a foil and embossed card. We are also able to produce a high build textured effect to really make your cards stand out.

Hot Foil

We have six hot foil presses all dedicated to the production of greeting cards and we produce a wide range of foiled finishes including holographic, metallic and neon with a standard flat or textured effect. We can hot foil onto litho or digitally printed cards and our quality is second to none.

Embossing

Using our heidelberg presses we can produce a beautiful range of embossed cards, we have a wealth of experience in this area and are happy to help develop your card range to get the best results from this finish. We specialise in multi level embossing and have a wide range of materials in stock suitable for this process.

Digital Spot UV

Using our Accurioshine press we can add a high build spot UV finish to your greeting cards, suitable for small and large runs it can also apply a textured effect and is perfect for making your cards shine.

Digital Die Cutting

We have two digital die cutting machines that are perfect for the intricate cutting of greeting cards. They are able to precisely cut and crease all without dies and are a cost effective way to prototype new designs or produce short runs.
